Appellate Mediation

Welcome to Clouthier Law, your trusted partner in navigating the complexities of appellate mediation. Our law firm is unique in that we focus entirely on appellate law across all practice areas in Texas and Federal Courts of Appeals. While appellate mediation is less common than mediation during trial, it is imperative that when mediating during appeal, the mediator has extensive knowledge of appellate law and how courts of appeals generally decide cases. This experience may help resolve cases more expeditiously for your client.

How Does Appellate Mediation Work

Room MeetingWhen a case goes up on appeal, whether it be a complex civil matter, a family law matter, or any other type of appeal, mediation sometimes proves successful even if prior attempts at dispute resolution failed. Our mediators request a confidential memorandum prior to mediation with the parties’ legal positions, points of error, and other factual information. This enables the mediator to utilize our appellate experience to facilitate productive settlement discussions based on our ample experience navigating cases in the courts of appeals.

Why Choose Us?

At Clouthier Law, we understand the importance of having skilled professionals who not only comprehend the legal nuances of appellate matters but also possess the art of mediation. Our certified mediators are well-versed in the intricacies of appellate law, allowing them to bridge the gap between parties and facilitate constructive dialogue.

Room Meeting 2We also provide a confidential and spacious office environment to ensure your comfort and confidentiality throughout the entire mediation process. Our 7,000+ square foot private office space has the option for two large conference rooms or two smaller intimate private offices to utilize during the mediation. This is designed to foster an atmosphere conducive to open communication and resolution.

Client Reviews
“Susan has worked tirelessly for years filing appeals on my behalf. Finally her efforts and persistence has paid off. After serving 11 and 1/2 years, I was released from Federal Prison and have been able to return to my family and help once again with raising my children [now age 16]. My family and I owe a debt of gratitude which we will never be able to repay. The love we feel for Susan is immeasurable.” Joe R.
“Our case was complicated and time critical. Susan took charge of the entire process, keeping us updated with texts, phone calls and emails. She worked through a Holiday weekend to make certain our case got the attention and success required to bring our loved one home. It is also very important to know that she has sophisticated research tools, which are IMPERATIVE when you have to navigate through the Appeals process.” Jack H.
“Susan is a thoroughly dedicated professional that has a unique empathy for cases that reveal the misapplication of justice that so often affects those with limited resources. Through her tireless efforts, one of my best friends had six years reduced from his sentence. The family and I will be forever grateful to Susan.” James P.
