James R. Close is an appellate attorney licensed in Texas and Louisiana who handles complex and high-stakes disputes. He has over thirteen years of experience taking on difficult cases and working steadfastly to give his clients their best possible chance on appeal.
Prior to joining Clouthier Law, James maintained a diverse civil litigation practice in Louisiana for more than thirteen years, handling matters that included commercial disputes, personal injury and wrongful death cases, medical malpractice, probate and succession disputes, and family law matters. He has handled numerous appeals in both state and federal courts for both appellants and appellees. James approaches each case with diligent preparation, creativity, and tenacity, and is committed to fighting for his clients at every stage of the appellate process.
James is a native of the Houston area. He earned his Juris Doctor from Baylor Law School and holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Texas A&M University. Outside of the office, James enjoys spending time with his wife and family, lifting weights, playing guitar, playing golf, cooking, and watching Aggie Football.
